Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
The arrests come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers detained a 31-year-old man for suspected robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
